As a former law serials person, I knew that law reviews were edited by 3Ls, but I didn't know submissions:

a) weren't peer reviewed

b) weren't anonymized in any way

anyway this blog post by an Illinois prof was... revealing and biting

also while there may be useful things for law students in running a law journal, this piece certainly makes it evident that they're learning a lot about politics and pecking orders and not necessarily anything about how to do good scholarship.
