@hugh I mean I was ALSO taught that of the flag touched the ground you gotta pick it up. And lord knows the Western powers were very into partitioning and exploiting China even down to major cities and stealing Hong Kong. Sounds like a regular mix of nationalism and a very legit historical context. I wish they’d write similar on USian.
@hugh I do enjoy countering our international propaganda. Like explaining our voting system (across states) to a German colleague (at a conference) who finally asked “why IS it that way” and I just said “well. They only want well-off white people to vote”
