TIL that our library system has been (kinda randomly) forgiving fines for the last 15 years. Apparently the bug(ish) has been fixed.

In the system meeting, I noted that the bug’s practice was within my moral and belief system so I didn’t have any problem NOT fixing it.

Me, muttering to friendly coworker after the meeting: it seems like the system has read the gospels and who are we to interfere?

It's starting. The machines
are becoming sentient. And their first act is to begin forgiving library fines.
