who is writing - in specific detail, not just generalized hand waving gestures - about all the shit that academic libraries *used to do* that isn't happening anymore because of widespread understaffing?

honestly feel like the main place i've seen this kind of coverage is the extinction-level event happening with school librarians (coverage of reduced literacy rates, lack of access to books within schools, etc). why academic librarianship isn't treating the disappearance of K-12 librarians as the canary in the coalmine is another subject i hope someone is writing about.
