this RBMS talk on precarity labor that ended with ageism is why I am so hell bent on retiring in my 50s, come hell or high water. Ageism is extremely real even in librarianship, I expect it to get even worse, and tons of people are forced into early retirement due to workplace ageism. I would like to do it on my own terms as much as I can.
